Name Suggester

Suggests valid names that sound similar to a given name.

Why?

To be able to find valid names and nicknames that may be used in place of someone elses name.

How?

Uses US Census data as a history of possible valid names. Based on the double metaphone algorithm, and Levenshein Distance.

Install it

pip install name_suggestor

Usage

the suggest_name method returns a list of tuples, each with an alternative name, and its levenshtein distance from the original name.
