Given a URL, retrieves thumbnail images (similar to when you share a link on Facebook or Digg).

link_thumbnail

Helps you find thumbnail images for a given link, useful for adding context to
a shared URL. Lets you easily implement the "pick a thumbnail" functionality
from sharing a link on Facebook or Digg.

The approach to discovering an image is multi-tiered, in this order:
* OpenGraph
* oEmbed
  - thumbnail_url
  - "photo" type url
* microformats:
  - basically <img> with "photo" class
* semantic
  - leverages Readability


Usage / Quickstart

In console:

    gem install link_thumbnail

In irb:

    require 'link_thumbnail'
    LinkThumbnail.thumbnail_url("http://example.com/a-post/") # => "http://example.com/images/relevant-image.jpg"
